Gobi, the dog, captured an ultramarathoner’s heart during a 125 km race and was adopted

During an ultramarathon in the arid Gobi Desert, something unexpected occurred with runner Dion Leonard. A stray dog began following him during the race, running an impressive 125 kilometres by his side. This display of loyalty deeply moved Dion, who decided to adopt the dog, naming him Gobi.

Amidst one of the world’s most challenging races, Dion and Gobi formed a special bond. Despite the scorching heat and gruelling terrain, the marathon runner now had Gobi as a constant companion. With every step, their friendship strengthened.

However, after the race, Gobi mysteriously disappeared in a Chinese town. Dion was devastated and immediately launched a search for his new friend. What began as a disheartening search soon gained momentum, as people from around the world rallied to assist in the hunt.
