The 22-year-old hit the stage in a white two-piece ensemble, accompanied by her backup dancers, and began her performance with “Revolving Door,” showcasing her signature back-bend leg extension, which inspired a viral trend on TikTok.

The performance of “Sports Car” featured dramatic splits and pyrotechnics, adding extra intensity to her main-stage debut at the VMAs. McRae’s artistry and stage presence were highlighted as she brought her album So Close to What to life, combining athleticism with emotive singing.
This year, McRae received six nominations, including song of the year for “Sports Car,” best pop artist, best editing, and best visual effects for Just Keep Watching (From F1: The Movie). She also earned two nominations for song of the summer: Just Keep Watching and her feature on Morgan Wallen’s What I Want. McRae took home the award for Just Keep Watching.

Before the show, McRae made an impression on the red carpet in a white sheer dress. The VMAs were hosted by LL Cool J and took place at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. McRae continues to tour in support of her album, which was released on 21 February, with the Miss Possessive Tour scheduled to conclude on 8 November.
