Jesy Nelson has opened up about life in hospital as she continues her pregnancy journey, revealing the first thing she plans to do once discharged. The 33-year-old former Little Mix singer, who is expecting twins with partner Zion Foster, has been in hospital since March after being diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) – a rare but serious condition that can threaten the wellbeing of both babies. Nelson underwent emergency surgery to manage the complication, as both twins were sharing one placenta, increasing the risk.

In a TikTok video filmed from her hospital bed, Nelson shared a light-hearted update with fans, saying she’s keen to change her hair colour after giving birth. “When I first come out of hospital, one of the first things I wanna do is dye my barnet,” she said. “First of all because… get your greys out for the lads! Second of all, I feel like I’ve been this colour for quite a while now. I don’t feel like it’s ginger anymore, it’s just like a washed-out auburn.” She also asked followers for advice on whether she should try a new look, like the “browny-blonde” shade her boyfriend suggested.
Fans were quick to respond in the comments, with some encouraging her to stick with auburn, while others were curious to see her try blonde. Nelson revealed she is now seven months pregnant, and her babies are monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twins – meaning they share one placenta but have individual sacs. According to the NHS, TTTS affects 10–15 per cent of identical twins with a shared placenta, and if left untreated, can lead to severe complications due to imbalanced blood flow between the babies.

Despite the initial concerns, Nelson has since reassured her followers that the condition appears to have stabilised. “We feel so grateful and blessed that these little babies are still going strong,” she said in a recent video. From her hospital room, she thanked fans for their continued support and positivity. “We’re still in here! Hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine. Unfortunately, we can’t! Well, we can. I mean, Zion takes me out in the wheelchair down the road, but that’s as far as we can go.” Nelson originally announced her pregnancy in January with a photograph showing Foster cradling her baby bump.
