Iconic Peaky Blinders suit worn by Cillian Murphy set for charity auction

Date:

A period-style three-piece suit worn by Cillian Murphy in the final episode of Peaky Blinders is going under the hammer at a charity auction. Worn by Murphy as Tommy Shelby during the climactic scenes filmed near Buxton in 2021, the suit includes a handwritten note believed to be from the actor himself, reading: “takes off ring”. Also included are a tailored shirt and a 10-page call sheet from filming.

The suit is expected to fetch between £1,000 and £2,000, with other series memorabilia also on offer. These include a hat worn by Sam Claflin as Oswald Mosley, and a coat worn by the late Helen McCrory as Polly Gray, each valued at up to £400. A range of other wardrobe pieces from cast members will also be auctioned.

All proceeds will benefit The Christie Charity, which funds cancer care and research at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. Dan Muscatelli-Hampson of Omega Auctions described the items as “genuine cultural artefacts” and said they were honoured to support the cause.

Fans can attend a themed event on 20 May at the Peaky Blinders bar in Manchester, where select costumes will be displayed and available for bidding. Tickets are free and available via The Christie Charity website, while online bidding is live on Omega Auctions. Murphy, now an Oscar winner, is set to reprise his role in an upcoming Peaky Blinders film.
