Gordon Ramsay has admitted he goes over the top when cooking for his six-year-old son Oscar — much to the dismay of his wife, Tana. The celebrity chef, 58, known for his Michelin-starred restaurants, joked that he prepares extravagant versions of classic dishes, even when catering for his youngest child. “I’ll do sausage and mash with baked beans and make it look like a bloody three-star Michelin dish,” he told The Savoy Originals podcast. Ramsay explained he adds each baked bean individually and uses butter-rich mashed potatoes, inspired by French chef Joël Robuchon.

However, Tana doesn’t share his enthusiasm. According to Ramsay, she tells him off for going to such lengths: “Our son is five years of age and you’re messing around with sausages. Stop it.” Ramsay, who shares six children with Tana — Megan, Holly, Jack, Tilly, Oscar, and baby Jesse — admits he gets carried away in the kitchen. Despite owning 34 restaurants across the UK, he revealed he’s only eaten in one of them twice over the past 25 years, saying they’re “too posh” for his taste.
In a separate incident, Ramsay’s Los Angeles mansion became the target of a “swatting” hoax earlier this week. At around 8.40pm on Tuesday, LAPD officers were called to his Bel Air property after receiving a false report of an active shooter on the premises. Upon arrival, officers found no evidence of a disturbance, and neighbours confirmed there had been no unusual activity. Ramsay was not home at the time.

“Swatting” involves deceiving emergency services into sending armed officers to an address under false pretences, often putting innocent people at risk. The LAPD has launched an investigation into the hoax, though no arrests have yet been made. Ramsay’s representatives have been contacted for comment, but no official statement has been released.
