On the court, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz faced American fifth seed Taylor Fritz, aiming to maintain his unbeaten record against the American. Alcaraz, who comfortably beat Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the quarter-finals, is seeking his second Wimbledon title. In the other semi-final, world number one Jannik Sinner met seven-time champion Novak Djokovic, who advanced after a gruelling win against Flavio Cobolli. Sinner had previously seen off American Ben Shelton to reach this stage.
