Victoria Beckham launches first foundation after lifelong skin struggles

Date:

Victoria Beckham has spoken candidly about battling skin problems “throughout her entire life” as she unveils her beauty brand’s first foundation. The 51-year-old fashion designer and former Spice Girl is introducing The Foundation Drops, which she describes as a lightweight product designed to help women feel comfortable and confident in their own skin, regardless of their complexion.

Speaking to British Vogue, Beckham explained how her personal experience with acne shaped the development of the product. “There was a time when I couldn’t put a pin between the acne on my face. I know how it feels not to feel confident because of your skin,” she said, recalling periods when heavy make-up left her feeling self-conscious. She added that she wanted to move away from what she called an “old-fashioned look” of thick, mask-like foundation.

The launch of The Foundation Drops is deeply personal for Beckham, who admits she has worn make-up since she was “far too young” in an effort to cover her acne. She described the new product as the culmination of her lifelong search for something that would not only conceal blemishes but also improve the overall look and feel of her skin.

Reflecting on the project, Beckham said: “This product has been a lifetime in the making. I’ve struggled with my skin my whole life, and I want other women to finally feel seen and understood.” The entrepreneur, who founded Victoria Beckham Beauty in 2019, said the foundation was designed to offer coverage, comfort and a more natural appearance.
