Tracy Morgan has emphasised the importance of giving back after revealing he has helped to feed 19,000 families through his charitable work. The 57-year-old actor has donated more than $200,000 to the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation and explained that supporting those in need is a value he hopes to instil in his children. He said he wants his daughter Maven and her brothers to grow up with empathy, noting that giving back offers “more” than simply receiving praise or recognition.

The comedian’s perspective on life was shaped in part by the serious road collision he survived in 2014, which left him critically injured and killed his friend James McNair. Morgan recalled hearing his grandmother’s voice when he regained consciousness in hospital and said the experience made him feel “fortunate”, reminding him that many people face even greater difficulties. Family remains his priority, and he explained that spending time with his children is what matters most to him at this stage in his life.
In terms of his career, Morgan said he only pursues projects “with a heart”, insisting that he wants his work to remain meaningful and enjoyable. He believes his career has continued to improve with age, crediting his experience for giving him a renewed appreciation of everything he has achieved. Using a mountain as a metaphor, he noted that stepping back has allowed him to recognise the scale of what he has built and motivated him to keep pushing forward.
