Tesco has confirmed that its partnership with Evri will come to an end next month, marking the closure of over-the-counter ParcelShop services at 1,200 Express stores across the United Kingdom. The supermarket giant first teamed up with the delivery company in 2021, allowing customers to collect and return parcels from a wide range of retailers at local Tesco Express branches.

According to Sky’s Money Blog, Tesco is currently in the process of “winding down” the service and will display specific closure dates in each participating store. The service is set to cease nationwide on 28 November, though a ten-day “buffer period” will follow to allow customers to collect outstanding parcels ordered through Evri’s ParcelShop service.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “Our partnership with Evri, offering an over-the-counter ParcelShop service at Tesco Express stores, is coming to an end. We are in the process of winding down this service in our stores and will display details in individual stores of when the service will stop at that location.” Despite the change, Evri will continue its collaboration with Tesco Clubcard, which allows customers to earn points when sending parcels through the delivery firm.

The decision coincides with Asda’s new partnership with Evri, which will see ParcelShop services introduced across its network. The service has already launched in more than 300 Asda locations, including its Express convenience shops and larger supermarkets, with full rollout expected across all 1,200 stores by April next year. Evri says its ParcelShops, based in over 9,000 UK businesses, offer customers a simple way to send, collect, and return parcels at any time, with self-service print-in-store devices available for added convenience.
