Police probe reported rape of teenage girl near south-east London Golf course

Police are investigating after a teenage girl was allegedly raped on a footpath near a golf course in south-east London on Monday evening. The incident is believed to have occurred shortly after 5pm on 4 August, on a trail off Perry Street in Crayford, close to Barnehurst Golf Course.

Detectives attended the location and took a statement from the victim, who is receiving ongoing support from specialist officers. An active investigation is underway, and police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “At around 5.05pm on Monday, 4 August, police responded to reports of a rape on a footpath off Perry Street, Crayford. Officers attended and spoke with the victim, a teenage girl.

“She continues to be supported by specialist officers. Enquiries remain ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this stage.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling 101 or via the Met Police website, quoting CAD 5741/04AUG. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through their online form.”
