Neato robovac users will soon no longer be able to operate their devices via the mobile app. The company, which ceased trading in 2023 following declining sales, has informed customers that its “cloud services are being phased out during Q4 2025,” according to an email obtained by The Verge.

Neato’s parent company, Vorwerk Group, had previously stated that cloud support would remain available for at least five years after the brand’s closure. However, the latest message notes that cybersecurity standards and compliance rules have since evolved, making it “no longer possible to safely and sustainably operate these legacy systems”.
The change will not render existing vacuum cleaners entirely unusable, as they can still be activated manually using a physical control button. Nevertheless, many of the features that justified their premium price tag will be lost once app connectivity ends.

Users will be unable to schedule cleaning routines, initiate the device remotely, or set up No-go zones to restrict cleaning areas. The decision marks yet another example of smart home products losing essential functionality once cloud services are withdrawn.
