Gunmen with australian accents sought over fatal shooting at Bali Villa

Date:

Bali police have confirmed that two foreign nationals are being sought in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at a private villa on the island over the weekend. According to police spokesperson Ariasandy, eyewitnesses reported that the suspects spoke English with what appeared to be an Australian accent.

In response to the incident, local authorities have alerted airports and other points of exit across the island in an effort to prevent the suspects from fleeing Bali.

Badung Police Chief Arif Batubara stated: “We cannot yet determine the motive.” Police confirmed that only three rooms in the villa were occupied at the time of the incident, with a total of five guests present. Among them were the wives of the two victims and another foreign tourist.

Preliminary findings from forensic doctors at Ngoerah Hospital on Monday indicated that the victim, Radmanovic, sustained gunshot wounds in at least four areas of his body, including significant injuries to his head and foot. Authorities are currently awaiting permission from the victim’s family to carry out a full autopsy.

Investigators recovered a substantial amount of ballistic evidence from the scene, including 17 bullet casings, approximately 55 projectile fragments, and two intact projectiles. These were found in the bathroom, where Radmanovic was fatally shot.

The victim’s wife, Jazmyn Gourdeas, told police that she was awoken by her husband’s screams before witnessing a man in an orange jacket open fire. She stated she did not recognise either of the attackers, who were reportedly wearing masks.

At least three eyewitnesses reported seeing two masked gunmen arrive at the villa on a scooter around midnight. One suspect was dressed in an orange jacket with a dark helmet, while the other wore a dark green jacket, a black mask, and a dark helmet. Authorities continue to investigate the shooting and have not ruled out any possibilities regarding the motive behind the attack.
