Tensions within Reform UK have escalated further as Nigel Farage launched a public rebuttal against former MP Rupert Lowe, following Lowe’s suspension from the party. Farage described Lowe’s claims about his stance on the child grooming scandal as “monstrous” and dismissed his allegations as damaging to the party.

Lowe was suspended last week after accusing Farage of acting like “the Messiah,” with Reform UK leadership citing accusations of workplace bullying from two female employees. Lowe, who represented Great Yarmouth, denied the accusations, claiming he was targeted for speaking out against Farage. He further accused the party of trying to “silence” him over his calls for tougher action on grooming gangs.
In a post on social media platform X, Lowe claimed that Farage’s team had instructed him to tone down his language on deporting foreign nationals complicit in grooming gangs, a request he says he ignored. He expressed frustration that the party had not followed through on a promised national inquiry into grooming gangs. Farage responded, emphasising his long-standing efforts to combat the issue and accusing Lowe of seeking to harm the party.

Lowe, in response, rejected Farage’s accusations, stating that the real reason for his ousting was his critique of party policy and leadership, not the allegations against him. The dispute continues to divide Reform UK, leaving supporters with conflicting accounts of the situation.
