Date:

Comedian Milton Jones has announced the cancellation of several dates from his UK tour after being diagnosed with prostate cancer, which will require surgery. However, the recovery period will mean that a number of his shows must be cancelled.

In his statement, Jones apologised for the cancellations, saying, “I’m so sorry about this, but I need to announce the cancellation of several dates from my ongoing Ha!Milton Tour.” The shows affected include performances in Leeds, Coventry, Basingstoke, Launceston, Durham, and other cities scheduled for this summer. Despite this setback, Jones confirmed that some of his summer shows, including those in Colchester and London, will be rescheduled to the Autumn, and all Autumn dates will proceed as planned. Ticket holders for the cancelled performances will be contacted directly by the venue box office.

The comedian explained that the decision to cancel these dates was difficult but necessary due to his health. “This difficult decision comes following a recent diagnosis of treatable prostate cancer. I’ll be undergoing surgery soon and will need time afterwards to fully recover,” he said. Jones expressed his gratitude for the support of his fans during this challenging time, saying he is looking forward to returning to the stage as soon as possible. “Trust me, abnormal service will resume as soon as possible and I’m looking forward to being back out on the road again soon – though probably not on a bike!”

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with one in eight men being affected during their lifetime. The disease is more common in men over the age of 50, although it can be diagnosed at a younger age. Treatment plans for prostate cancer vary depending on whether the cancer is localised or has spread. Many individuals with prostate cancer do not require treatment, while others may be advised to undergo a variety of treatments to control symptoms and improve quality of life.
