Hollywood veteran Floyd Levine has passed away at the age of 93. Best known for roles in Murder, She Wrote, Babylon 5: Thirdspace, Baywatch, Cagney and Lacey and Dog Day Afternoon alongside Al Pacino, Levine died peacefully on Sunday, 24 August 2025. His passing was only announced on Thursday, 28 August 2025, by his daughter-in-law, Tracy Robbins.

Robbins shared the news on Instagram, accompanied by a series of photographs of the actor. “My beloved father-in-law, Floyd Levine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family (and probably wishing someone would bring him a martini),” she wrote. She described him as a loving father-in-law, grandparent, and jokester who adored Frank Sinatra, classic films, and making everyone laugh.
Floyd began his working life as a cab driver in New York City before moving to California to pursue an acting career. He appeared in films such as Norbit, where he played Abe the Tailor alongside Eddie Murphy, and The Hangover in 2009. He also featured in Coach Carter and Night Shift with Michael Keaton. Floyd’s son, film producer Brian Robbins, has credits including A Quiet Place and Mission: Impossible.

Levine and his son briefly shared the screen in television, appearing in separate episodes of CBS’ Archie Bunker’s Place in the early 1980s. They also acted together in ABC’s Head of the Class, with Floyd portraying a judge and Brian a student named Eric Mardian. Levine’s family celebrated his life, noting his humour, charm, and enduring influence on both family and colleagues in Hollywood.
