Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has reportedly welcomed his second child with his long-term partner, actress Georgia Groome. The couple’s new arrival comes five years after the birth of their first daughter, Wednesday. Rupert, 36, best known for his portrayal of Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, was seen out with the newborn during a stroll in Hampstead, London, today.

Photographs published by The Sun show the couple cradling their baby, who appears to have inherited her father’s signature red hair. Rupert and Georgia, who is also an actress known for her role in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, have been in a relationship since 2011 but have kept their personal lives relatively private. The couple’s daughter, Wednesday, was born in 2016, and Rupert made his social media debut in 2020 to announce her birth, quickly gaining a million followers on Instagram. His follower count has since increased to 5.3 million.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rupert previously spoke about fatherhood, saying, “It’s great. I’m absolutely loving being a dad. It’s just the best thing. It’s amazing how it completely takes over everything. It’s all I really care about, so it’s been great.” However, he has yet to publicly comment on the birth of his second child.

In recent years, Rupert has distanced himself from Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling due to her views on transgender issues, joining fellow cast members Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson in voicing concerns. Last November, Rupert was ordered to pay over £1.8 million in tax after losing a legal battle with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The tax demand stemmed from an investigation into his 2011-12 tax return, relating to a £4.5 million payment he received for his business affairs, which HMRC argued should have been treated as income rather than a capital asset.
