Ronan Keating brought out one of his “heroes”, Canadian singer Bryan Adams, during his BBC Radio 2 in the Park performance in Chelmsford on Saturday afternoon. The 48-year-old Irish singer, who began his career with Boyzone in 1993 alongside Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and the late Stephen Gately, took to the main stage to perform a selection of fan favourites.

During his set, Keating introduced Adams to the stage, and the pair performed The Way You Make Me Feel. Speaking to the audience, he said: “You’ve got to be careful what you wish for. Sometimes your dreams come true, and you’ve got to be ready. Back in 2001, I got to work with one of my heroes, Mr Bryan Adams. We made a little song together. We thought we’d sing it for you. Here we go.” Adams is scheduled to return later on Saturday for his headline slot.

Keating’s appearance follows his revelation on the Scott Mills Breakfast Show that Boyzone may reunite in 2026. He explained: “We’ve all been chatting over the last few weeks, and I think 2026 might be a year for Boyzone to maybe try and do something.” The band subsequently shared posts on their Instagram page with a photo of the group and the words “the journey continues”, urging fans to sign up to their mailing list.

Boyzone originally disbanded in 2000 as members pursued solo projects, before reuniting in 2007. Their Thank You And Goodnight farewell tour took place between 2018 and 2019, and they have not performed together since. The band achieved six UK number one singles and five UK number one albums, with hits including Love Me For A Reason, Words and No Matter What. Stephen Gately passed away at the age of 33 on 10 October 2009 at his holiday home in Majorca.
