Rob Lowe has revealed that he “almost got killed” while attending Patrick Schwarzenegger and Abby Champion’s wedding. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, the 61-year-old actor described a near-death experience involving a golf cart at the couple’s recent ceremony.

“I’ll do crazy things like big wave surfing or heli-skiing, but little things scare me,” Lowe admitted. “I’m petrified of golf carts… I’m really, really petrified of rolling a golf cart.” He recounted that his fears were realised when he performed a “full double 360” while descending a steep, wet hill in one of the small motorised vehicles.
When asked by Kimmel how fast he was travelling, Lowe said: “It was down a really steep hill and the grass was wet. My friend said I looked like a statue as I was spinning.” He added that he avoided braking mid-spin, noting: “Then you’re done. You do not want to do that.” Lowe explained that he continues to use golf carts despite his fear because he tries to be careful when driving.

The wedding took place on 6 September at Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and was attended by Lowe, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, Chris Pratt, and Jason Isaacs. Lowe described the vehicles as “tipsy-topsy, like, ready to roll over all the time,” highlighting the source of his anxiety even amidst the celebration.
