Thousands of music fans flocked to Glasgow Green this weekend as Scotland’s largest music festival, Trnsmt, kicked off under soaring temperatures, reaching 27°C – notably warmer than last year’s 20°C. Festivalgoers embraced the sunshine with “taps aff” energy at the Radio 1 Dance stage, with many dressed in swimwear, shorts, and carrying hand fans in an effort to stay cool.

The three-day event welcomed headliners including 50 Cent on Friday, Scottish rock giants Biffy Clyro on Saturday, and Snow Patrol rounding off the weekend on Sunday. Also featured were dance pioneers Underworld, performing alongside Miles Kane, who stepped in to replace Wunderhorse. Brooke Combe, known for her rendition of Yes Sir I Can Boogie, is set to perform on Sunday.
Irish rap group Kneecap were dropped from Friday’s line-up after Police Scotland advised their set would require additional policing. The cancellation follows the recent terror-related charges against group member Mo Chara. Despite the change, the festival’s atmosphere remained lively, with flags from Scotland and Palestine visible among the crowd, and many channelling Taylor Swift’s cowboy-inspired fashion.

Though Trnsmt can host up to 50,000 people per day, this year’s edition has not sold out, unlike in 2024. Highlights included Twin Atlantic’s performance against a backdrop stating: “I believe in conspiracy theories”, adding a provocative edge to an otherwise sun-soaked celebration of music and culture.
