Princess Andre reflects on life in Katie Price’s ‘Mucky Mansion’

Princess Andre has spoken openly about her childhood in Katie Price’s infamous “Mucky Mansion,” admitting she “didn’t really like it” because of the difficult memories attached to the home. The 18-year-old daughter of Price and Peter Andre discussed her experiences in the crumbling nine-bedroom Sussex property during an interview with The Guardian, as she promotes her upcoming ITV2 reality series, The Princess Diaries.

“It was a really scary house. A lot went on there. So I didn’t really like it,” Princess said. “I suppose when you have bad experiences somewhere, you don’t like the place.” The mansion, once valued at £2 million, became notorious for its state of disrepair, clutter and repeated financial troubles. Eventually sold for £1.5 million in December, its dilapidated condition – including broken furniture, piles of rubbish and even a rotting horsebox in the garden – became the focus of Channel 4’s Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion. While Princess avoided going into detail, Price herself has long claimed the house was haunted, at times attributing misfortunes to a “curse.”

Price, who was declared bankrupt for a second time in March last year with debts of more than £760,000 owed to HMRC, admitted she was relieved to leave the property behind. “I can’t wait to get out of that house, I’ve had nothing but bad memories in that house for nine years,” she said previously. “Whoever buys it, I warn them, they will get bad luck there.” At one stage she also revealed she had therapy to cope with the anxiety the mansion caused her.

In contrast, Princess described life with her father, Peter Andre, as calmer and more structured. “Dad’s house is a lot quieter, a lot more peaceful, a lot more organised,” she explained. “Whereas my mum’s house is much more just do what you want. I love being in the middle – if I fancy a bit more chaotic and busy, I’ll go to Mum’s, and if I want relaxed, I’ll go to Dad’s.” Her comments come amid renewed tensions between her parents, who divorced in 2009. Last week, Peter publicly rejected Katie’s claims that their children spend equal time between homes, sparking fresh disagreements. Katie has since called for “peace talks,” insisting Princess should not be dragged into the dispute.
