Olivia Culpo has admitted to experiencing a “little bit of an identity crisis” since giving birth. The 33-year-old model and her husband, Christian McCaffrey, welcomed their daughter Colette in July, and Olivia has spoken candidly about the self-doubts she has faced in recent months. On The Squeeze podcast, she explained: “There’s totally a shift. Whether or not you want there to be or not, you have somebody that’s physically dependent on you. So, I’m not going to sugarcoat it: Yeah, it’s scary.”

Having been career-focused for many years, Olivia worries about balancing motherhood with her modelling career. “I’m just kind of a worrywart that way, like I’m very ambitious,” she admitted. Married to Christian since 2024, she feels fortunate to have his support, which has made the transition to parenthood more manageable. Olivia added that while she is determined to continue working, her daughter now gives her a new perspective on priorities: she would choose her child over any career opportunity without hesitation.
Despite the challenges, Olivia has expressed joy in embracing motherhood. “It’s been so fun. Every day is so different and I’m really just trying to sit in because I know it goes by so fast. Everybody says these are the days that go by quicker than you could have ever imagined,” she said. The experience has also led her to reflect on the importance of her own mother’s support during pregnancy.

Olivia revealed that her mother’s help was invaluable, particularly during the early stages of her pregnancy. “I feel like I have a lot of respect for my mum, and one thing I realised through this experience of becoming a mum is actually how much I’ve needed my mum, which I didn’t anticipate. She’s just been so helpful to me, especially in the beginning. It’s just an ironic thought that you need your mum the most when you’re about to become a mum. That’s just genuinely how I felt,” Olivia explained.
