Julia Fox prioritises career and motherhood over dating

Julia Fox has revealed that she does not currently have the “bandwidth” to be dating anyone. The 35-year-old actress, who previously dated rap star Kanye West, explained that she is focused on her son and her career, leaving little room for romance. Julia, who shares four-year-old Valentino with her ex-husband Peter Artemiev, told People: “The way that I date, that’s two full-time jobs. I just don’t have the bandwidth right now. And also, it’s like if I were to do that, that would be cutting into the time with my child, and I don’t think he would like that very much.”

While Julia has occasionally browsed Raya, the celebrity dating app, she admitted she has been underwhelmed by the potential matches she has encountered. “Sometimes I just scroll through it just to see who’s on there, but I’ve never gone on a date off Raya,” she said. The Uncut Gems star added: “Honestly they’re not even exciting. Yeah. Sorry. No offence, Raya celebs.”

The actress also opened up about her past struggles with self-esteem. Speaking to Variety, Julia explained: “I always had people telling me that I could do so much more and I didn’t have that same level of confidence. Like everyone around me was always like, ‘You could be a writer, you should write a book about your life, you could be a movie star,’ and I was just like, ‘You guys are crazy.’ I definitely did not have the self-esteem to even see that for myself.”

Despite her initial doubts, Julia has been surprised by the scale of her own success. “I guess I always saw myself in the art world in some way, but I had a very myopic view of what the art world meant,” she said. “I definitely did not picture it being on this very large scale with the world as a stage.”
