Model and entrepreneur Hailey Bieber has spoken candidly about the emotional and physical challenges of life after childbirth, as well as ongoing speculation surrounding her marriage to pop star Justin Bieber. In a recent interview with Vogue, the 27-year-old revealed that giving birth to her son, Jack Blues Bieber, in August last year was one of the most difficult experiences of her life, describing the 18-hour labour as “the hardest thing I’ve ever done.” She admitted that adjusting to motherhood while facing relentless rumours online has been mentally taxing, calling it “a crazy life to live”.

Hailey, who founded the skincare brand Rhode, said that navigating postpartum recovery in the public eye has tested her resilience. “Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through,” she explained, “and learning a new version of myself is very difficult.” The constant speculation about her relationship with Justin, to whom she has been married since 2018, has added further stress. Despite the scrutiny, she said she is choosing to create boundaries and reject negative narratives, adding: “We don’t have to allow those things into our space if we don’t want to.”

Reflecting on life as the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and niece to Alec Baldwin, Hailey noted that she’s often felt misunderstood by the public. “I feel like I’ve fought so hard to get people to see me for who I am,” she said. “There’s nothing you can do when people just don’t want to.” She credited Justin for helping her navigate fame, explaining that his experience growing up in the spotlight gave her perspective. “He said to me, ‘Baby, trust me, I’ve been here before. You’re not going to win. There is no winning.’”

Hailey also opened up about how pregnancy was a surprise and required her to prepare both physically and mentally. She incorporated breathing exercises, acupuncture, yoga, and strength training into her routine. However, after experiencing amniotic fluid leakage at 39 weeks, she was induced and endured an exhausting labour. “You’re not the same person you were before,” she said. “I like who I am so much more than I ever have.” Hailey Bieber is featured in Vogue‘s summer issue, where she shares more about motherhood, identity, and growth.
