British actor Gillian Anderson is inviting women to once again share their most intimate desires, as she announces a follow-up to her bestselling non-fiction book Want, which collected anonymous letters detailing women’s sexual fantasies. Known for her roles in The X-Files and Sex Education, Anderson said the project sparked a powerful wave of openness and reflection when it was first launched. She believes it marked only the beginning of a deeper, ongoing conversation about female sexuality.

In a heartfelt Instagram message, Anderson encouraged women who didn’t contribute the first time to reconsider. Whether they had hesitated due to doubt, fear, or simply missed the opportunity, she reassured them that no fantasy is too much or too little. “Real life may have rules and boundaries, but this is fantasy—and it’s yours,” she said, calling on women to explore their desires without shame or restriction.
Submissions are being collected through the DearGillian.com website, where Anderson has also shared a personal letter reflecting on the impact of the original project. She described the response as “extraordinary” and noted that the book had helped bring long-silenced conversations into the open, confronting the taboos that often surround women’s sexuality. The first volume gave many women a voice—and a mirror.

Since its release in September 2024, Want became a Sunday Times number one bestseller and earned Anderson two nominations at this year’s British Book Awards. With the second volume underway, she hopes to reach even more women, empowering them to own their fantasies and rewrite the narrative around female desire.
