Danny Miller admits to nabbing Emmerdale prop in cheeky on-set anecdote

Date:

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller has confessed to sneaking a rather recognisable prop from the set of the long-running ITV soap. Speaking on Off Script, a podcast hosted by former co-star Kelvin Fletcher, Miller shared a humorous tale involving a branded parasol from The Woolpack. “I’d had me eye on it for a while,” he said, adding that the Ephraim Monk parasol ended up jammed into his tiny car, awkwardly sticking out of the passenger window as he drove down the M62. “Every two minutes it was slapping me in the head,” he laughed.

The actor, known for portraying Aaron Dingle since 2008 (with a few brief absences), explained how his actions were quickly noticed by a friend. “I think it was Adam Thomas – who plays Adam Barton – who saw it and said, ‘Is that from work?’ I said, ‘Yeah, yeah.’ He went, ‘That is so sad’,” Miller recalled. Embarrassed, he decided to take the parasol down. A few weeks later, he overheard crew members during a tea break doing a prop check and saying: “Sure we’re missing a parasol.”

Despite the light-hearted tone, the interview also touched on a more serious moment from Miller’s recent return to the show. He revealed that an off-screen injury forced scriptwriters to alter his comeback storyline. Details of the injury weren’t disclosed, but the change evidently impacted his reintroduction to viewers.
