Amanda Holden and Alan Carr plot greek adventures and dream of Japan for renovation show

Date:

Amanda Holden and Alan Carr are gearing up to film the fourth series of their popular BBC renovation travel show, having already transformed properties in Italy and Spain. Their next destination is Greece, where the pair will take on a project in Corfu. Amanda revealed that both she and Alan would love to film in Japan one day, joking that they might pitch a travel show instead. “We’ll be the next Judith Chalmers,” she quipped, referencing the classic travel presenter.

The upcoming series promises more of the light-hearted chemistry viewers have come to love, along with a festive twist. Amanda confirmed that a Christmas special has already been filmed in Malaga, in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. As for the Corfu shoot, she teased: “We’re going to bash a house down and get on the Saganaki and Ouzo — that’ll be our drink of choice while handling power tools!”

Amanda’s enthusiasm for the Greek project is personal too, recalling a previous holiday to Corfu with Alan and her family. The island holds special memories for the pair, including Alan’s time filming Mamma Mia there. Their on-screen camaraderie and shared humour continue to be a hit with audiences, and the festive episode is expected to bring some Mediterranean sunshine to UK screens this winter.

Outside of her travel exploits, Holden remains a staple of British entertainment. She continues her judging role on Britain’s Got Talent and is set to host the new BBC quiz show The Inner Circle this autumn. Recently, she also helped launch the McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives Experience in London, playfully celebrating the biccy’s centenary in a chocolate-coloured PVC dress. She joked about fridge-chilled biscuits and shared that fellow judge Alesha Dixon would be her likely snack companion: “Bruno’s watching his figure and Simon might break a veneer!”
