After premiering in 2020 and returning in 2022, the series has been absent for three years, much to fans’ disappointment. The third season was added to Netflix on Thursday 25 September, and it quickly topped the platform’s worldwide TV chart in its first two days, outperforming shows such as Billionaires’ Bunker.
In the UK, Alice in Borderland currently sits at number four on the streaming chart, behind James Norton’s historical drama House of Guinness, Mae Martin’s thriller Wayward, and Zoe Saldaña’s spy series Lioness. The logline for the new season reveals Arisu must rescue Usagi from the Borderland, facing fiery arrows, electric currents, and a final Joker game card along the way.

Critically, the third season has received a lower approval rating than its predecessors, scoring 60% on Rotten Tomatoes compared with 82% and 91% for the first two seasons. Nonetheless, viewers have praised the series, awarding it an IMDb score of 7.8 out of 10, with one fan describing it as a “16-hour rollercoaster that keeps you awake for two days.”
