A teaser for The Fate of Ophelia (The Chainsmokers Remix) was posted to her official fan Instagram account, Taylor Nation, encouraging listeners to download the updated version. In response, The Chainsmokers described their participation as an “honour”, further expressing their admiration for the pop star.
The remix arrives shortly after Swift unexpectedly released an acoustic edition titled The Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower), which was made available exclusively on iTunes. The strategy echoes her longstanding reputation for surprising fans with new interpretations and hidden musical clues.
The Life of a Showgirl has already posted remarkable commercial figures. Within 24 hours, the album sold 2.7 million units in the United States, becoming Swift’s biggest single-day sales achievement and the second-highest opening week recorded since Luminate began monitoring album data in 1991, behind Adele’s 25.
