Lily Allen and David Harbour list New York townhouse for £6 million

Date:

Lily Allen and David Harbour’s New York townhouse has been put on the market for $8 million (£6 million), less than a year after the couple’s separation. The Smile singer and the Stranger Things actor reportedly split in February following four years of marriage. The Brooklyn property’s listing coincides with the release of Allen’s new album, West End Girl, which appears to allude to themes of infidelity and emotional turbulence.

According to People magazine, the townhouse was officially listed for sale on Sunday. The former couple purchased the property in 2021 for $3.4 million (£2.5 million) and carried out a complete renovation in the years that followed. The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home, which was featured in Architectural Digest in March 2023, showcases the pair’s distinctive sense of design and modern aesthetic.

Allen has acknowledged that her marriage to Harbour influenced her songwriting on West End Girl, though she insists the record blends both truth and fiction. Speaking to British Vogue, she explained: “There are things on the record that I experienced within my marriage, but that’s not to say it’s all gospel. It is inspired by what went on in the relationship.”

Some of the imagery for West End Girl appears to have been photographed inside the Brooklyn townhouse, giving fans a glimpse of the space the couple once shared. While the pair have not publicly commented on the property sale, the timing has prompted speculation among fans that the move signals a new chapter for Allen, both personally and creatively.
