Contestant gifts dolls of Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins on Win Win With People’s Postcode Lottery

Date:

On Saturday, Win Win With People’s Postcode Lottery contestant Toni Fine, 81, surprised presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins with dolls modelled on the duo. “I’ve brought along two little friends,” Fine told the hosts, prompting Perkins, 56, to remark she felt “torn between fear, genuine fear, and deep love.” Giedroyc, 57, admitted she felt “love” for the miniature figures.

Fine explained that creating a likeness of the presenters was challenging but rewarding. The dolls are made from sheep’s wool, sculpted with a special barbed needle, and built around a wire skeleton—requiring no sewing or glue. The London-based contestant has been making dolls for four years and has created 15 in total, gifting some to friends and volunteers at her local food bank.

The contestant said appearing on the show was a fun experience, allowing her to delight the presenters while raising awareness for Food Bank Aid. She added that any winnings would be shared with food banks, assist her grandchildren onto the housing ladder, and allow her to fly her twin over from the USA.
