A 46-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a man at a residence in east London. The 47-year-old victim, who was known to the suspect, collapsed inside a property on Victoria Park Square, just a short distance from Bethnal Green Police Station.

Emergency services were called to the address at 10:16am on Monday after reports that the man had sustained knife wounds. Officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene.

The man was transported to hospital, but tragically died from his injuries at 11:52am. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident, which occurred near Bethnal Green Underground station.
A police spokesperson stated: “Efforts are ongoing to identify and inform the man’s next of kin. A special post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 3 July.” Initially arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, the woman was later rearrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Detective Chief Superintendent Brittany Clarke, who oversees local policing, said: “My thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
