Mum gets fit by using her children as weights and embracing a healthy lifestyle

Date:

Cassie Morrison, 26, from Hull, has shared her incredible transformation journey, losing a remarkable 7st after changing her diet and using her children as weights for her home workouts. Over a two-year period, she dropped from 17st to 10st, now wearing a size 10 dress, down from a size 26.

Morrison, who struggled with her weight for most of her life, found a creative way to exercise at home. With her children, Rubie, aged 2, and Broden, aged 4, joining in on her workouts, she incorporated exercises such as squats, shoulder presses, planks, and arm curls into her routine. “Exercising with the kids helped me so much,” she explained, adding that she couldn’t afford proper weights but made the most of her little ones to keep her active.

The turning point in Morrison’s journey came while on holiday, when she realised she was avoiding photos due to embarrassment about her weight. That moment sparked her decision to overhaul both her diet and fitness regime. With a limited budget, she found home workouts to be the best solution. By working at her own pace without the pressure of a gym environment, she gradually built her fitness and saw lasting results.

Alongside her exercise routine, Morrison changed her eating habits, reducing her calorie intake to 1,500 a day and focusing on lean proteins. While she still enjoyed occasional treats like chocolate and crisps, she found success by maintaining a calorie deficit and sticking to a balanced approach. “I’d tried every diet before, but sticking to a calorie deficit and exercising really worked for me,” she said, highlighting her new healthier lifestyle as the key to her remarkable weight loss.
